RFQ Type Goods Goods AGRICULTURAL GOODS Reference Number GC12600290 Title Pre-inoculated biologically activated ca Description 450 each x pre-inoculated biologically activated ca Specification* Specifications Pre-inoculated Biologically Activated Carbon/Biochar Bags The City of Cape Town wants to procure pre-inoculated biologically activated carbon/biochar that will assist with the remediation of polluted environmental waters. The biologically activated carbon/biochar must 1. be derived from Pinewood (or a similar softwood) – no products derived from Black Wattle will be accepted. 2. be treated by steam activation to have a surface area of approximately 700 m2/g. 3. have a particle size distribution of between 1.5 and 3.5 mm. 4. comply with the specifications listed in SANS 52915-1 (granular activated carbon) and vendors must supply a certificate of analysis (COA) for the product supplied. The biologically activated carbon/biochar may only be inoculated with the following microbes 1. Bacillus licheniformis 2. Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 3. Bacillus subtilis 4. Nitrosomonas europaea 5. Nitrobacter winogradsky 5. Rhodopseudomonas palustris. Supply 1. 450 items (total) Pre-inoculated biologically activated carbon/biochar bags. 2. Delivery will be to eight different sites within the City of Cape Town’s boundaries. Detail of quantities per site to be supplied at a later stage. Bags used for the supply of the product must 1. Have a volume of 50 L not exceeding 55L. 2. Have dimensions of 60to65 x 30to35 cm (l x w). 3. Be made from a UV resistant, environmentally friendly material. Installation in watercourse 1. The successful vendor must include installation at eight site locations in the price per bag. 2. The quoted price must include a. All materials required for installation b. All transportation c. If such samples /technical data sheets are not submitted as required in the bid documents or within any further time stipulated by the CCT in writing, then the bid concerned will be declared non-responsive.
