This specification covers thesupply of brake fluid for use in disc and drum brake systems as well ashydraulic clutch circuits requiring DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluids.2. The product be compatible with brake other brake fluids meeting thecompulsory Government standards. 3. The oils shall be formulated fromhigh quality HVI paraffinic base oils, blended from virgin base stockand containing suitable additives. Samples taken from any portion of thesupply shall be free from impurities. No reclaimed oils are to be used.4. To ensure OEM acceptance of products offered in this tender,# the oil shall be the product of a recognized and establishedmanufacturer. # the product shall have OEM approval for vehicles andplant in use by the City of Cape Town # the product shall meet or exceedthe performance specification levels required. # the product shall belisted as approved on the API web site. 5.
