The dam is a double curvature concrete arch dam that was designed and constructed by the DWAF. The construction was completed in 1973. The coordinates of the dam is 27° 25´ 17´´ S 32° 4´ 17´´ E From the South Travel on N2 North. Take the Jozini offramp and follow the road for approximately 25km. pass through the Jozini town. The road split after Jozini town, take the left hand off take towards the dam.
