RFQ Type Goods Goods Clothing, PPE & Accessories Reference Number GA12300859 Title Clothing Description 4 each x bullet traps Specification* Contact Vivian C Henry Vivian.Henry@capetown.gov.za 021 4441340/42 084 8880658 Specicifications below The bullet trapping device shall be a multi # purpose device that will accommodate the safe making of pistols (calibre 9 x 19 mm), rifles (R4 and R5 in calibre 5,56 x 45mm) and shotguns (Musler 12 in calibre 12 Gauge). 2.2 The bullet trapping device shall "catch" armour piercing rounds. 2.3 The bullet trapping device must be mobile and movable among various points of service. 2.4 Provisioning should be made that the bullet trapping device can be fixed onto building / steel structures by means of removable mounting devices such as bolts and nuts, if and when necessary. 2.5 Preferred outside dimensions of the bullet trapping device must be within the boundaries of the following dimensions. 2.5.1 Diameter of weapon insertion cylinder Not more than 140 mm 2.5.2 Height Not more than 300 mm 2.5.3 Width Not more than 300 mm 2.5.4 Depth Not more than 500 mm 2.6 The bullet trapping device shall not exceed a mass of 25 kg. 2.7 The construction of the unit can be steel / high grade durable polymer. 2.8 The device must be presented in the specified colour scheme (green to specification number .................................) to make the unit recognizable as the property of the Department of Correctional Services. 2.9 The unit must be labelled with the National Emblem (Code of Arms) and the wording "Correctional Services". The bullet trapping device shall #catch# all the rounds mentioned in 3.1.1 to 3.1.4 when fired from the fire arms mentioned. 3.1.1 Stop a minimum of 10 armour piercing 9 x 19 mm pistols rounds and 3.1.2 Stop a minimum of 5 x R 4 rifles shots (5.56 mm) and 3.1.3 Stop a minimum of 5 x R 5 rifles shots (5.56 mm) and 3.1.4 Stop a minimum of 3 x SSG shots from a Musler 12 Gauge Shotgun before it has to be replaced. 3.2 Potential tenderers should supply a certificate of compliance that the bullet trapping device is safe for use and that it will #catch# the number of rounds as mentioned above. 3.3 A complete user instruction for the use of the device should be provided and the disarming process shall be depicted and described in easy legible English and international acceptable signs on the bullet trapping device itself.
