This specification covers the supply of a heavy duty cleanerspecifically for use in repair of drum and disc brakes. The productshall be suitable for use on vehicles and mechanical plant in use by theCity of Cape Town#s fleet. 2. The product shall be capable of removingbrake dust, dirt, grease and brake fluid deposits within a few minutes.In addition the product shall offer the following benefits Reduce brakedisc squeal, It shall be fast drying It shall leave no residues 3. Theproduct shall be from a proven manufacturer. 4. Tenderers will berequested to supply a sample of their product offered for testingpurposes. Should the product not conform to the criteria as laid out inparagraph 2 above the product will be considered non responsive. 5.Samples taken from any portion of the supply shall be free fromimpurities. 6. The product shall be supplied in new, sound, cleanaerosol cans. Outer cartons or cases, adequate toensure safe delivery, shall be supplied. 7. In addition to theSupplier#s normal branding, the drums or packages and outer cartons orcases where supplied shall be clearly marked as follows with charactersat least 20 mm high, using a stencil or label to ensure legibility.BRAKE CLEANER GUIDELINE Wherever reference is made to any particular Trade Mark, Name, Patent, Design, Type, Specific Origin or Producer, such reference shall be deemed to be accompanied by the words "or equivalent".
